Through the years, Bob has guest-starred on some of television's most successful series.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have photos from every appearance, but these photos from his
private collection should bring back memories of Bob from years gone by.

Front Row: The "Roseanne" cast

Bob: The biggest surprise for me when I walked onto the "Roseanne" soundstage
the first day of rehearsal was finding out that it was the same soundstage we used for
Gilligan's Island over 30 years before. This episode was a dream sequence in which the
Connors played the castaways and we played the Connor family (I played Jackie -
hairstyle, earrings and all). Since there had to be an island set and Roseanne wanted it
to be as authentic as possible, she had the crew round up the original
cyc used by our show so many years before. For those of you who don't
know, a cyc is a huge piece of canvas that surrounds the soundstage;
scenery is painted on it (in our case blue skies, clouds, etc.) to make
the set look like whatever it's supposed to be - an island, a
neighborhood, etc. We thought this was an extremely thoughful gesture
on Roseanne's part because walking onto the set felt just like coming
home! It was fun to
see Roseanne pull out all the stops
to become Ginger and, of course,
John Goodman was terrific as the
Skipper. Laurie Metcalfe made a
great Gilligan, imitating me pretty
much to a tee. For the Connor
household sequences, Tina played
Roseanne, Dawn played Darlene
and Russ played DJ. Also, there
was a special appearance by
Sherwood, who played himself!

Bob: This was a pretty nice gig - a light workload and
a cruise to Acapulco for this episode, which revolved
around cruise director Julie's class reunion. I played one
of her classmates. My wife and I liked life on the high
seas so much I was a little worried I'd never get Dreama
to disembark once we returned to LA. Who'd blame her
with shopping, restaurants, swimming and a movie theater
right at her fingertips; not to mention, no phones,
newspapers or any other distractions from the outside
world! If you've cruised, you know what I mean!

Bob and Dawn made an appearance in a GI dream sequence of this globally-popular series.
What's that? 2 Gilligans?

Bob played Dud, the man who wanted to marry Charlene Darling, sister of all those Darling bros. - her father was played by Denver Pyle.

Alan, Bob, Dawn, ALF and Russell

The castaways reunited once again to
team up with America's favorite alien of
the mid-80's, Alf. Since the cast truly
cared (and still do) about each other,
they always loved it when their schedules
allowed them to appear together on
television. Alf was one of the last times
they were able to share the small screen
with their big buddy, Alan.

In this episode of Love, American Style called
"Love and the Hitchhiker",
Bob has been inadvertantly hypnotized by
Joey Heatherton, much to the dismay of
his roommate Howard Storm.
