Hi There, Everybody!

If you found this page, then you've obviously seen the pictures on the White House
page, which means that you know our recent three-hour tour was an exciting one.
We wish we could have taken all of you with us, but since that was impossible, we
figured the next best thing would be sharing it with you here on the web site

The day began with a white stretch limo pulling up in front of our hotel to take us to
the White House in style - by 'us', we're referring to JoAnne Worley, her husband
Roger Perry, Russell and Connie Johnson, Tina Louise and us. We were taken to the
WH, issued our passes (the official tags that you see around our necks in the photos)
and met by Ann McCoy, Special Assistant to the President.

First stop - the Oval Office. Now this was pretty exciting. The two of us met President
Clinton three years ago during our first WH visit, but didn't get to see the Oval Office
at that time. After being given permission to take pictures in any room we wanted,
imagine our dismay when we realized that none of us had brought a camera (don't
ask - there's no good excuse). One word to Ann McCoy and the problem was solved.
A WH staffer, Joe, lent us his camera, along with 2 rolls of film. Thank you, Joe!

One of the most exciting parts of the visit for the two of us was seeing this web site,
up and running on the White House computers, as we visted with staff members
who checked it out. We're happy to report hey liked it too, which was a bonus!

Believe it or not, the tour really was a three-hour tour, which thankfully didn't include
any water gags, but did include The East Room, the State Dining Room, the Red Room,
Blue Room, Green Room, the Diplomatic Reception Room, the Library, the China Room,
the Vermeil Room, the Great Hallway,
the Rose Garden, the South Lawn
and the Sculpture Garden.
In this picture of us in the China
Room, we thought you might like to
know that we're seated in front of the
oldest china in the WH. At the top left
is George Washington's china - the
patterns go chronologically from
there all the way around the room.
For obvious reasons the ladies really
seemed to enjoy this room.

We met some wonderful people during our hours there; not only the staff members,
who were so gracious, but also Chief of Staff John Podesta, Annie Leibovitz, Socks, the
First Feline, and Buddy, the First Pooch. The last two may not qualify as people, but they
had animal charm and were good humored enough to pose for photos with all of us.

We're sure that those of you who are big Gilligan fans also remember "Laugh-In" and
JoAnne Worley, so we wanted to take this opportunity to say what a great lady JoAnne
is - truly, one of those people you meet and feel like you've known forever. We really
enjoyed our time with her and her actor husband Roger Perry. They, along with our
close friends Connie and Russell, made the visit one we'll never forget.

If any of you ever get the chance to visit the White House, don't pass up the opportunity!
It's an awe-inspiring experience, one you'll remember for the rest of your life. To stand
in rooms filled with so much history, where so many powerful people have charted the
course of our great country . . . to walk the Great Hallway where you've seen world leaders and presidents head for the
microphones to face reporters in
televised press conferences . . . to
see the official portraits . . . the
downstairs hallway where the Bush
grandchildren roller-skated . . . to
view the East Room remembering
the devastating days when Pres.
John F. Kennedy lay in state there - well, there really are no words to explain the feelings that bombard you. We recommend it highly!
Smooth Sailing!
Bob & Dreama

Special Thanks to
Ann McCoy, Dave (our Secret Service Escort), Mr. Podesta,
Annie Leibovitz and Joe once again (for the camera)!
