Little Buddy Radio in Afghanistan!

Imagine being away from your spouse, your children, your country during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Imagine the loneliness.

Now imagine honoring our military men and women who put their
lives on the line daily to preserve the freedoms you and I enjoy, by sending them a little piece of home. Imagine Little Buddy Radio
sending “Sunny Side Up with Charlie and Dreama” co-host Charlie Thomas to Afghanistan. If it can be imagined, we can make it happen!

Charlie spent the last week, November 17th – 24th with the 156th military police in Mazar-i-Sharif.  Thanksgiving Day he heads for FOB Finley-Shields in RC-East for the remainder of his imbed Page Not Found

Imbedding a journalist is no small feat, but LBR was willing to take on the challenge, jumping through the necessary hoops and wading through all the red tape to make it happen.

Luckily, we had the right man for the job.

Charlie has imbedded with the troops on three previous occasions – twice in Iraq and most recently in Afghanistan in 2009. Bringing our soldiers a little piece of home, especially during the holiday season, is an honor for all of us at the Denver Foundation, but for Charlie, it’s a passion. Not only will he take a little piece of home to our soldiers, but he’ll send back live reports from the battlefield during “Sunny Side Up” every weekday morning, with recorded reports throughout the rest of the day.

And his reports won’t be about body counts and sensationalism, but rather about the hearts and souls of the men and women who serve. Let you heart take flight by becoming part of this effort.

Whether or not you agree with the war, one thing we can all agree on is the ‘rightness’ of supporting our troops.
